Two Funny Monkeys

David loves his new monkey! It's almost as big as he is and he like to give it hugs. Today was the first full day of daycare and David was great! The only minor catastrophe was a bump on the head, but otherwise, he ate a good lunch, played with friends, and even ate yogurt melts for a snack. Peer pressure is amazing - we used to try yogurt melts at our house and he would make an awful face. Now they're great. Go figure!

He's been growing too. David is starting to outgrow some nine month clothes and he seems longer today, or at least his pants seem just the right length. We went to church yesterday and he had a good time playing in the nursery too.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Here's my first school project! I used markers, glue and colored sand to make this cute little turkey. I know how to put my fingers in the holes to make the turkey walk too. Isn't learning great?

A room fit for a prince

Whohoo! Mommy got the bedroom done before he started kindergarten!!

This is the first day of day care for David and first week back to work for me. David had a great morning and even ate an entire grilled cheese for lunch, so he must have been pretty active playing and making new friends. He also ate banana puffs for snacks, which he wouldn't do for me a few weeks ago, so you know what influence your peers can have!

This weekend, he learned how to clap his hands by himself and can wave to people. The wave looks a little like get it for me, but once he figures out how to turn his wrist, it will look more like a wave. :-)

Eleven Months Young

Today is the eleventh month birthday for David Brendan! He's learning and growing every day. The newest achievements include learning to use a fork (if you poke food first, then he will take the fork and put it in his mouth), can drink from a sippy cup (although he still likes the bottle), and can say "more" and hand back his plate for more food. Today he started saying hi to people we pass when we walk the dog. He's also figured out how to get snacks out of the holder cups -- instead of reaching your hand in, it's much more effective to hold down one of the sections and then tip the holder upside down. You can see from the photo, how much more he can get out using this technique. :-)

The last couple of days have been not so much fun -- I came down with a flu bug and fever on Thursday night, so my sister came and took David Brendan home with her for the day and evening. He had fun playing with Katie and their Grandma Jennings, and even got to tag along for a birthday party and ate cheese pizza! David Brendan had a flu shot in October, so I'm hoping he's protected from this -- at least there are no symptoms yet! He's doing fine from the immunizations he had on Thursday too.

More things David Brendan likes:
-Scrambled eggs and bacon
-Toast with cinnamon
-Steak, sweet potato fries and green beans
-Mango - yum!
-Oatmeal

Things he doesn't like:
-Ravioli with meat for toddlers - yuck!
-Sleeping in -- regardless of the time he falls asleep, wake up time is between 6:30 and 7 every morning. (We may not be linked genetically, but are alike in this aspect!)

Growing Up!

Today we went for immunizations at the doctor's office and David has gained 15 ounces since the October 24! He said "more" at lunch yesterday and handed me his plate. Then at Amazing Joe's restaurant last night, he ate steak, sweet potato fries, and green beans. I think we're going to have to move to the country and grow our own meat and veggies!

Binding on

Whew! I got David's quilt done this morning at 5:17 -- and well before his high school graduation! What time are naps?
 :-)

Yeah!

I finally got something accomplished while David was napping today! For someone who is used to juggling six things at once and crossing things off a list, a baby who won't nap will really mess with your first-born needs. Now he has something to look at on the wall of his room -- don't ask how long it took to collect all those little Beanie Babies. :-)
