Isaiah

Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. Isaiah 43:4-6

The party's almost over

The holidays were fun, but they're almost over. As you can see by David's expression, it's about time. Lots of people to see, naps to skip, miles to ride backwards in the car seat, and we're tired enough that we're definitely not ready to give up the rest of the bottles. Whew! But he sure is cute in his M & M shirt, jeans and shoes. We've figured out in the last two days that shoes aren't so bad too. And he's still thinking about walking by himself.

David's new list of favorites --
 - Anything the color orange
 - Cleaning out the drawers in the kitchen
 - Chinese food, including moon cakes
 - Splashing big in the bathtub and putting his face in the soap bubbles
 - Things with gears and anything I can bang together to make noise

Santa Came!

Santa founds our house! He brought David some wooden blocks (he spelled David's name with them) and puzzles and a See and Say. Mommy gave David the cool garage in the picture and other surprises. We also started a new tradition of eating lunch at a Chinese restaurant after we went to church. David loves Chinese food and even likes to be fed with chopsticks. A friend gave us some trainer chopsticks for little people so we need to get practicing!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from the cutest reindeer ever!

Happy Birthday

David is now one year old! He had an Elmo cake and his favorite chicken, noodles, and mashed potatoes for a birthday dinner with the family. And he had is own cake to eat! He's a pretty big fan of icing, and didn't make much of a mess. Good boy!

Sick Little Boy

Today baby David had to see the doctor for his cold and cough. It had been a week and he was beginning to wheeze, so the pediatrician worked us into the schedule. Now we've got antibiotics and a nebulizer machine. Hopefully this will do the trick or the doctor wants to look at asthma, which I'm not convinced is the problem, but we'll wait it out.

His new favorite thing is to say hi and wave to people. He's also trying really hard to say Holly. I'm feeling better but working full time, taking care of a sick little one, keeping house, cooking meals, and getting ready for David's birthday and Christmas is just about to do me in. And please don't ask if I have a tree up yet. :-)

Two Funny Monkeys

David loves his new monkey! It's almost as big as he is and he like to give it hugs. Today was the first full day of daycare and David was great! The only minor catastrophe was a bump on the head, but otherwise, he ate a good lunch, played with friends, and even ate yogurt melts for a snack. Peer pressure is amazing - we used to try yogurt melts at our house and he would make an awful face. Now they're great. Go figure!

He's been growing too. David is starting to outgrow some nine month clothes and he seems longer today, or at least his pants seem just the right length. We went to church yesterday and he had a good time playing in the nursery too.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Here's my first school project! I used markers, glue and colored sand to make this cute little turkey. I know how to put my fingers in the holes to make the turkey walk too. Isn't learning great?
